Statement: SFD Update
The committee
are in preparations for SFD 8. SFD 8 did not take
place in October 2011 because of the difficulties
encountered in collecting the funds raised from
some players on one of the teams and this was only
resolved in late December 2011. The committee did
not want to start the next event before its predecessor
had been completed. Much of the preparatory work
for the event had taken place before the decision
was taken to postpone it.
While the team managers do everything they can to
ensure all funds are collected on time it is also
the responsibility of the players to ensure the
funds they have raised are paid in as soon as possible
and definitely by the event deadline. They should
also have the courtesy to ensure the appropriate
manager know of any issues in producing the funds.
Delays in collecting the funds affect the reputation
of the event in supporting the charities but also
affect the charity due to the delay in getting the
funding to them.
We move on to the next event stressing to all participants
the need to do their best for the charity by getting
as much sponsorship as possible and collecting it
in as quickly as possible after the event has taken
place.
